Wayfinder Statement of Intent
The expression of interest given here is focused on the design and artistic direction of the project. I will of course be happy to work collaboratively with professionals in the fabrication and installation stages of the project. To give an idea of the approach that might be taken a quick mockup has been created that is intended to show how a modular design incorporating bas-relief construction could be developed. Materials could be perspex cut with computer controlled tools. The bas relief elements could be encased in a clear plastic that retains the 3D look but makes it more robust against graffiti.

Ridgewalk Art Commission
Ridgewalk is a new cultural trail that will extend across the Dandenong Ranges. I have been commissioned to complete 7 artworks for a section of the trail that will function as milestones or way finders along a section of the track. The pieces are made from lazer-cut wood and spray painted with auto paint. The art will be installed in May this year.

This work comes from several speculative designs that I have made for lazercut bas-relief artworks - see renderings below. The modular design enables multiple versions of the same work to be made which lends it self to street art or public art along trails.

Bird Child Spirit
A sonic artwork incorporating illustrations. A commission for the local council in which I worked with children below 10 years old to record them making bird sounds which was in incorporated into a multi-channel sound installation in a small patch of bushland in Selby. For the installation I created visuals, software and technical design.

Fish Fence
A submission for a screening fence for the Cardinia Shire (not successful). The batten design afforded different perspectives of the artwork depending on viewing angle. As the fence is typically viewed from passing cars, the fish would appear to swim.
