Non-space is a transition zone where utility is the functional determinant. Identity and sensation are not designed for. Awareness is diverted to the times before and after the present. The consequent metaphor of modern attention vs the deep now can be generated by the intervention of a small intelligent unit effecting artistic gestures and ears that are open and curious.

The small intelligent unit is modelled on the unit originally designed by Robert Fripp in the 1980's. This approach is revised with the creation of a mobile self-sufficient performance unit that enables multi-channel sonic spatial fields from distributing software designed by the musician Peter McIlwain. Through dedicated experience Mcilwain transforms the non-now (the space between designated nows) into the deep-now.
